Let y allow se usan para habar sobre dar o denegar permiso . Significan: permitir, dejar. Lo veremos cklaro con unos ejemplos:

La estructura de la frase es : Sujeto + verbo(let) + objeto + frase infinitiva o preposicional.
They let me go out and get a drink. ( Ellos me dejaron salir y tomar algo)
They wouldn’t let me do it again. (Ellos no me premitirian hacerlo otra vez)

La estructura es : Sujeto + verbo (allow) + objeto+ infinitivo con to
They allowed me to go out and get a drink.( Ellos me permitieron salir y tomar una bebida)
( PASIVA)
Si usamos allow en un afrase pasiva ( explicada en otro post) , la estructura es : Sujeto pasivo + verbo to be + allowed+ infinitivo con to.
He wasn’t allowed to go out and get a drink. ( No le estaba permitido salir y tomar una bebida).
Nobody is allowed to drink at work. ( A nadie le esta permitido beber en el trabajo).
